Former Deputy Attorney General for
the State of California, Julie founded the firm's San
Francisco office in 1995, and her team of 20+ professionals
covers all aspects of business immigration. Her late
partner, Alan Nelson, headed the U.S. Immigration and
Naturalization Service under Presidents Reagan and Bush
Sr. Pioneering new approaches in immigration service
delivery to corporate clients, her firm has been listed
by Inc Magazine as one of the Fastest Growing Private
Companies in America (2003) and by the San Francisco
Business Times as the #1 Woman-Owned Law Firm in the
Bay Area (2003 - present).
Julie has won a Cisco Systems Growing
with Technology Award (Customer Service Category, 2004)
and was profiled in book: The Moral Advantage, Getting
Ahead in Business by Doing the Right Thing" (Stanford
University Project on Good Works, 2004) for applying
the "Golden Rule" to her clients' needs. She
has served as Co-Chair and Faculty of the Business Immigration
Institute as well as Vice Chair of the American Bar
Association's Immigration Subcommittee. She has spoken
on immigration topics to dozens of human resources,
legal, accounting, and other business and professional
organizations.
She is also named in The International
Who’s Who of Business Immigration Lawyers, Who’s
Who in American Law, Chambers Global: ‘The World’s
Leading Lawyers’, Who’s Who of American
Women, and Dragon 2000’s List of the Top 1% of
American Lawyers and Judges. Her awards include an American
Jurisprudence Award in Negotiation, a Rotary International
Graduate Fellowship Award and the American Bar Association's
Client Counseling Competition (where she ranked #2 in
the U.S.). She has lived in five countries and speaks
three languages.
