Born in Lima, Peru.

Education: Universidad de Lima: Faculty of Law, 1982-1988; ESAN University: Finance and Corporate Law Program (Post-Degree), 2001-2002.

Profession: Lawyer.

Member of: Bar of Lima, International Bar Association (IBA), Alliance of Business Immigration Lawyers (ABIL), and AILA GMS.

Labor experience: Founding Partner and General Director of AOV Abogados. (Since 2017, onwards)

Previously, he was Partner and Head of the Labor-Migratory Area of Barrios & Fuentes, Abogados (Lima-Peru) 1994- 2017.

Likewise, he was Former Chief of the Legal Department at Banco Mercantil del Perú from 1985 to 1993.

Other professional activities: As member of the International Bar Association (IBA) he is an officer of its Immigration & Nationality Law Committee.

He has been recognised by the International Who’s Who of Leading Corporate Immigration Lawyers as a Peruvian leading immigration lawyer annually since 2012, and as Thought Leader in Corporate Immigration from 2019 to 2021.

His vast professional experience in corporate immigration includes the obtainment of resident or temporary worker and resident or temporary appointed worker Visas, among others, providing services on different immigration proceedings, both in-country and overseas. He heads a team of experienced lawyers and consultants who advise their local and international clients, mainly in the corporate immigration field, as well as in labour and corporate matters, helping them to achieve their business and immigration, labour and corporate objectives successfully. He also advises private companies belonging to different sectors, due to his extensive experience and highly specialised practice.

He has also participated continuously since many years ago as an international lecturer at IBA, AILA and ERC Worldwide conferences overseas, as well as in events organised by the American Chamber of Commerce of Peru (AMCHAM), Peruvian-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, British-Peruvian Chamber of Commerce, the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Peru, amongst others.

Publications: Author of articles published by IBA, AILA, ABIL, Lex Latin, ABA, ICLG, as well as the specialised national publication Análisis Laboral and others in Peru.
